Clothing
Think hillwalker… but make it oversized.
Two sizes too big, heavily layered, and dressed for temperatures that don’t exist.
Practical, comfortable, and slightly ridiculous—perfect.*

Nasi Goreng for Dinner
A proper classic with a bit of history behind it.
Nasi Goreng—literally meaning “fried rice” in Indonesian—is one of Southeast Asia’s most iconic dishes. Its roots go back centuries, influenced heavily by Chinese traders who brought stir-frying techniques and soy sauce to the region. Rather than waste leftover rice (which was unsafe to eat plain the next day in a tropical climate), it was fried with spices, garlic, and whatever ingredients were on hand—turning yesterday’s leftovers into something far better.
Over time, Indonesia made the dish its own. The key difference is the use of kecap manis, a sweet soy sauce that gives nasi goreng its rich, slightly caramelised flavour. It’s typically served with a fried egg on top and often accompanied by chicken, prawns, or vegetables, along with crunchy sides like prawn crackers or pickles.
Today, it’s a national favourite across Indonesia and a go-to comfort dish around the world—simple, full of flavour, and built on the idea that nothing should go to waste.

Bacon Rolls
Simple. Essential. Non-negotiable.
The humble bacon roll (or bacon butty) is a British staple that’s been fuelling mornings for generations. At its core—crispy or soft bacon in a buttered roll—it’s proof that you don’t need much to get it right.
In Scotland, it’s a go-to breakfast choice, often paired with a cup of tea or coffee and, if you’re that way inclined, a splash of brown sauce or ketchup.
A few stats to chew on:
-
The UK consumes over 11 million bacon sandwiches every day
-
Around 70% of Brits say a bacon roll is their favourite breakfast
-
Peak consumption? Weekend mornings and post-night-out recovery
-
The great debate: Brown sauce vs ketchup (roughly a 60/40 split)
Whether it’s a quick bite or a slow start to the day, the bacon roll remains undefeated—reliable, satisfying, and exactly what’s needed.

Tour: Johnnie Walker Experience, Edinburgh
A whisky tour—but not as you know it.
Right on Princes Street, this is less “walk round a distillery” and more full-on immersive experience. Think lights, music, storytelling and a bit of theatre—all built around the story of Johnnie Walker and Scotch whisky.
The main “Journey of Flavour” tour lasts around 90 minutes and starts with a quick flavour quiz, so your drinks are tailored to your taste (yes, very modern). Along the way, you’ll move through interactive rooms, learn how whisky is made and blended, and enjoy three drinks or cocktails as part of the experience.
It’s designed for everyone—not just whisky fans—so even if you don’t drink it, you’ll still get plenty out of it.
What to expect:
-
🎭 Immersive, theatrical storytelling (more show than lecture)
-
🥃 Personalised drinks based on your flavour profile
-
💡 Interactive rooms with lights, projections & sensory effects
-
🌆 Rooftop bar with views over Edinburgh Castle
The verdict (from people who’ve done it):
-
“Engaging and fun… surprised by the production quality”
-
“Highly immersive yet educational… well worth the price”
-
“More theatre than tour… interactive and memorable”
-
“Would highly recommend—even if you don’t like whisky”
A solid Edinburgh experience—slick, entertaining, and just the right amount of whisky involved.
Optional shorter version:
Johnnie Walker Experience
A 90-minute immersive whisky tour on Princes Street—part theatre, part tasting, part sensory experience. Expect personalised drinks, interactive rooms, and a rooftop bar at the end.
Widely rated as one of the best modern attractions in Edinburgh—even for non-whisky drinkers.
